It’s been suggested that one of the most crucial characteristics of a great quality cocktail is its proximity to pizza. Voodoo Rays, Dalston’s favourite New York-style pizza joint, has just taken that cold, hard, indisputable fact to the max, expanding to downstairs cocktail haven, Ray’s Bar.
This isn’t just any old bar keeping you from the hustle and bustle of Kingsland High Street. The intimate 50-seater was designed by Interior Stylist and Bar Consultant, Heather Pistor. Pistor’s signature formula of monochrome details, textured interiors and disco features brings you what she herself dubs the “Tokyo back alley basement bar with an East London twist.” The unique cocktail menu is also in good hands, being the brainchild of Drinks Consultant, Shiv Lal, General Manager, Waseem Akbar and Head Bartender, Dave Miller. Divided into Aperitifs, Mains and Desserts, Ray’s cocktail menu is the ultimate three-course experience to compliment any pizza (which, if crawling upstairs for a post-drink munch isn’t your style, you can order hot and fresh to your table).
